To celebrate, share and preserve the Lao expression of Theravada Buddhism with traditional ceremonies, festivals, dhamma teaching, novice practice and engagement with the Sangha.

Our Mission
Wat Lao Buddhavong is located in Fauquier County, Virginia on a countryside landscape of 58 acres, which is about an hour drive from Washington, D.C. It has drawn Buddhists from all over the United States and abroad. The main ceremonial building of the temple, the Sala Hong Tham (Dhamma Hall), was dedicated on July 3, 1993.

Wat Lao Buddhavong is a non-profit organization and is tax exempt 501(c)(3).
All donations are tax deductible, and a receipt is available. We are able to carry out our mission by contributions from our supporters, the community, and the generosity of private donors.
